TCL passes 100 million air conditioners and opens a smart factory in Guangzhou
TCL announced on 8 April 2026 that it has built 100 million air conditioners since 2021 and opened a Guangzhou smart factory with 8 million units of annual capacity.

TCL has announced the official launch of its new air conditioner smart factory in Guangzhou. The opening coincides with the company building its 100 millionth air conditioner since 2021.

The factory
The Guangzhou factory represents a total investment of nearly RMB 2 billion, which TCL puts at about USD 290 million. It has an annual production capacity of 8 million units and, according to TCL, can produce one air conditioner every seven seconds using AI and smart-manufacturing systems.
Producing 100 million units is a landmark achievement that reflects the trust of customers worldwide.
Market position, as TCL states it
TCL says it now ranks third for air conditioner sales volume worldwide and sells in more than 160 countries and regions. The release also cites 47 R&D centres and 40 manufacturing bases across the whole TCL group, not only air conditioning.
